No Time for Cabin Fever

I've just put up a few pics of fun things Audrey has had a good time doing lately. We keep busy, that is for sure.  There have been lots of chances for fun with the people we love, now just can't wait to see Gramma Kathy and Papa Jack. 

Bowling on Chirstmas Day with the Kellar Family.  Shannon helped Audrey push the ball down the alley; they got a strike on her first try!

Finger painting at home with mom, dad, and grammy.  Uncle Andy and Erin gave the finger paints to her for her birthday; she loves it.

This is playing in the water world Area at the Children's Museum in St. Paul; we went there on what seemed to be the coldest day of the winter.  She loved loved it, next time we go we want to go with a friend.  There was so much to do. she loved every second, well except for the dinosaur exhibit--"too scary" she told us.

Seeing ELMO Live at the Target Center with our friend Stella.  They had so much fun together in the big city; walking through skyways, visiting Matt's friends from work at the Target Center, and singing and watching Elmo and all his friends. 

Turning 2 year-old!  There was a post about her being sick and having a birthday, but she survived a mini-party.

Falling asleep at the table at the end of lunch, she wanted just a few more goldfish.  Ha, guess she didn't really need 'em.

Tantrums and Kisses

It is official.  Audrey has entered the Terrible Twos.  One moment she is playing with her kitchen set, which has been graciously lent to her by her Uncle Rick and Cousin Lauren.  The next she is screaming and crying while lying on the floor kicking her feet all because her plastic egg will not fit in the plastic saute pan with the lid on.  No matter how hard I try a mommy can't make a sqaure peg fit in a round hole, so there she lay crying it out. Throughout the day she has several moments like this it may be because I won't give her more goldfish crackers, we have run out of raisins, or I give her a glass of water instead of milk (she loves milk, can't get enough, but the doc says she shouldn't have much more than a glass with each meal). 
On the flip side of this she has also started this thing where she will sit on our laps facing us and want to give us kisses, kisses, and more kisses.  She will say, "Audee kiss you neck, Audee kiss your cheek, Audee kiss your hair, Audee kiss your mouth!"  Between each statement there is a loud, "MOOOOWA!"  I love that girl, she has done this a couple times a day to both Matt and me the past few days.  By the time her episode is over we are both laughing hysterically.  It is the moments like these that make the tantrums bearable! 
Anyway, it is a Monday today; I am home from work with a stomach bug just got Audrey out the door on the way to Sheryl's (daycare) with Matt.  Which, by the way, after telling Sheryl of Audrey's tantrum tales, she reports she has never done that with her during the day, go figure just with mom and dad.

When did she become a person?

I sit here an wonder how Audrey went from being a tiny little baby to a actual person.  She tells me what she wants and often does it in complete sentences.  She uses more facial expressions than I realized most people had, and I love it.  I saw a little baby at work today who was not even 5 pounds the same as Audrey was when she came home from the hospital.  It made me feel nostaligic for Audrey's early days, but then when she was running around GYM C at Maple Grove High School chasing the big kids after watching my Floor hockey team reminded me that I am so glad how much she is growing. 
These are the things I can say I love about Audrey right now:
Runs to daddy whenever she hear the back door open.
Opens the fridge to show me where the ketchup is.
Calls the milk, milt.
Says, "Wuv woo, mummy."
Gives me the look, which is eyes wide open, cocks hear head to the side slightly looking up, when scolded. 
When playing with the alphabet puzzle brings me the letter 'J' for Janell.
Can tell me she lives in OSSEO.
Eats a comparble portion to me of pizza, spaghetti, or rice when we have it for dinner.
Likes to sing the Bumble Bee Song saying, "Ouch, he stung me!" and says "Do it again!!" as soon as it is finished.
Reads the Ladybug book over and over and over again!
This lis could go on and on.

But today I just wanted to gloat, it is a busy time of year, it it nice to remembr the little things that make me smile.  Matt and I are happy parents, but are excited for the morning tantrums to end, too.  We wonder if she hates getting up in the morning now, what will she be like when she is a teenager???

Two with the Flu

It has been a year and a half since we have posted on our blog, I guess time flies. I realized I am not the best at updateing the babybook, so I thought Audrey's 2nd birthday would be a nice milestone to make another attempt at bolgging. Then, she will have something to look back on about her days as a tot.

Obviously, a lot has happened since I last posted. But this weekend we celebrated Audrey's 2nd Birthday. I found it to be a bit emotional. Thinking back to the our little peanut in her house made of plastic, the tubes helping her breathe, and me stuck in a bed waiting for my blood pressure to go down. There is so many ups and downs at that time, but oh how they were worth it! Audrey is growing and loving life!

She says so many words and catches on to everything. Loves to sing..."Bringing home a baby bumblebee...", "ABC's", asks to say prayers before dinner, and loves to play with her Gramma Kaffy and Grammy Roz.

She has more than settled in to our new house, loves to be home with mom and dad, but loves visitors running to the front door when she sees anyone comng up the walk to greet them.

Becoming 2 was a tough one, Audrey was sick all week and had to take a second trip to the doctor on her birthday. She had an on-again off-again fever, cold symptoms and very wheezy. The docs say it is jsut virual, but she is miserable. She did feel well enough to have her party today, grammy and papa Bruce, Joe, Shannon, Andy, Ering, Chelle and Mike all came over. We had to uninvite the Burns' becuase the virus Audrey would not be easy to hack for Baby Quinn, (or Tinn as Audrey would say) so we didn't want her to get sick. She had a lot mroe engery today that she has for a week, so hopfully she is on the tail-end of the bug.

I am hoping she is running though the house yelling, "Janell, Matt!" while giving us the the letter J and M from her alphabet puzzle. Her daycare mom, Sheryl, taught her our names incase she ever gets separted from us in public. She learns a lot there and loves being there with her friends. Again, hopes are that she gets to go all week becuase she has beat the bug...

It has been a good weekend, Audrey turned 2 while she had the flu!
